Audiometry was invented in 1919 and hasn’t changed much since. However, our understanding of the auditory system has advanced dramatically. We now know that this test is limited in it’s ability to understand your hearing profile.
Using your VR headset we place you in to our metaverse which is designed using calibrated augmented audio signals to test your functional hearing ability in a range of real world situations.
HOW DO WE DO THIS?
We are able to measure your listening effort by monitoring your pupil size, eye movement and head movement using the eye tracking and head movement features on your VR headset.
During the assessment your audiologist will change your environment by adding additional speakers, adjusting distance from the person you are engaging with and altering the level and type of background noise.
